이 책의 특이한 점은 하드커버 표지와 하드커버의 그림이 같다는 겁니다. :) 개인적으로 하드커버의 책은 표지를 떼어내고 보는 편인데, 대부분의 책은 하드커버 자체는 썰렁한데, 이 책은 그렇지 않더라고요.

그리고 표지를 뒤집었을 때 다시 한번 놀랐습니다. 표지 안쪽에 바깥쪽과 같은 그림이 있더군요!!! 이런 책은 정말 처음 봅니다. 정말 세심하게 만들었다는 느낌을 받았습니다.

책 안쪽의 종이도 아주 훌륭하고 그림이야 뭐 Rey의 것이니 두말하면 잔소리일 듯합니다. Rey 특유의 알록달록한 공룡들이 눈을 즐겁게 합니다. :) 내용도 비교적 쉬운 편인 것 같고, 충실합니다. 기존에 있는 The Dinosauria란 책이 참고하기 위한 책의 느낌이었고, Complete Dinosaur란 책이 옴니버스식의 편집이었다면, 이 책은 두 가지를 섞어놓은 듯한 느낌입니다.

책 날개에는 Holtz와 Rey에 대한 소개가 나와 있는데, 재밌는 것은 책의 마지막 장에 Holtz를 티렉스로 - Holtz는 티렉스 전문가입니다. - Rey를 깃털공룡으로 표현한 것입니다. :)

제가 가진 공룡관련 원서 중에서 "Dinosaur-"로 시작되는 시리즈를 모아 찍었습니다. 가장 두꺼운 것은 역시 The Dinosauria - 가격도 제일 비쌉니다. :) - 이고, 내용이 알차고 읽기 편했던 것은 Complete Dinosaur였습니다. 그리고 Dinosaurus는 낚인 책입니다. ㅠ.ㅠ 이 책은 어린이용 그림책에 가까우며 - Dinosaurus란 제목에서 눈치를 챘어야 했는데... Dinosaurus란 공룡은 없거든요. - 공룡과 여러 고생물의 Fact File 형식으로 담은 책입니다. ㅠ.ㅠ

아무튼, 공룡에 관심 있으신 분께서는 한 번쯤 질러봄 직한 책이라 생각됩니다. :) Amazon에서 대략 33,000원 정도면 살 수 있습니다. 요즘 우리나라의 책값을 고려한다면 큰 가격 부담은 아니라 생각하며, 지른 후 지름신께 감사할 수 있는 책인 듯합니다. :)
